Warranty
Elise Racing (Howell Race Engineering LTD) Warrants it’s workmanship on road going vehicles which are of standard factory tune. Due to the use of aftermarket products from other companies, for example piston suppliers, conrods and other associated engine parts who offer no warranty on their products it is not possible for Elise Racing (Howell Race Engineering LTD) to offer any warranty on engines or cars fitted with modified engines. Any specialist products such as rocker systems and oil pump gears are produced to high standards, however the company does not offer any warranty on these products since they are intended for race use, the company is therefore not responsible for any failures or costs attached to these products. Should an engine failure occur and Howell Race Engineering Ltd apply a fair play rule meaning the engine rebuild labour, or part of, may be covered by the company, the engine must be returned complete, in the event of an engine being returned stripped in any way, there will be no fair play labour applied.
Vehicles which are at any time used on a test track, race track or trackday event have absolutely no warranty due to the strenuous loads applied to the car where any given area of the vehicle may have an effect on another area of the vehicle.
Engine management systems which have been replaced or modified also result in Elise Racing (Howell Race Engineering LTD) offering no warranty since the standard engine components whose history may be unknown will be running under higher loads than that of the standard factory tune.
Any components manufactured by Howell Race Engineering will be manufactured to standard tolerances of +/- 0.001"
Any warranty claims are made on the basis of return to base, ie it is the responsibility of the customer/owner of the vehicle to deliver the vehicle or parts to Howell Race Engineering Ltd. Howell Race Engineering Ltd will not make any contribution towards collection or delivery costs and we will not travel to customer locations for warranty/tuning works.
Orders
Description of an order. Once a customer has made payment for, or a partial deposit payment of an invoice that has been provided by the company, this will be considered an order unless cancelled within one month. Electronic messages such as email, text and social media messages asking for works to be carried out will also be a taken as a direct order by the company.
All goods ordered shall be paid for in full before dispatch, all custom built orders and correctly supplied orders are non refundable or will be subject to a minimum surcharge of 50%. Engine management systems cannot be returned for refund nor their associated sensors, they may be returned for warranty repairs.
Any goods and vehicles left at Howell Race Engineering Ltd will be cared for in a responsible manner. Customers should insure vehicles when their value is more than £10,000. Any goods left at Howell race Engineering without payment shall attract a storage charge of £15 per day for the first six months. Any goods left at the company may have storage charges backdated for a period of up to six years should a customer not provide funds to complete the agreed project, in this event at a rate of £20 per day. Should the customer fail to pay for and collect his completed goods/vehicle after a one year period the company reserves the right to dispose of the goods/vehicle to recover costs unless a separate agreement is made between the customer and Howell race Engineering Ltd.
